Hi! I am Dawn Blanchfield, a freelance Web Designer located in the suburbs of Sacramento, California. Slamdance Design is the web design and development arm of Slamdance Studios. I am also an artist and photographer, as well as a wife and mother of 2. Yeah, I’m busy.

I have been involved in web design for over 13 years. I know it ages me, but I started designing web pages back in the days when a copy of an AOL disc was in every mailbox and Ask Jeeves was the go-to web browser. Things have changed a bit.

I enjoy web design because it gives me a chance to use both sides of my brain. I get to be creative and design the site using the artist training I’ve had, then I get to figure out the programming code needed to get my vision to actually work! It is win-win for an artist/engineer-in-denial kind of gal like me.

I also do contract design work for Sweet Blog Design. I’m their “code artist”. For these jobs I usually receive the masthead from one of of my co-workers, and then design the site around the new graphic. I also do the blog set-ups, migrations, and other programming goodness. It is such a fun job, I love working with such a talented group of a people.
